Cito Culver Article

I found a very interesting article on Staten Island Yankees' shortstop Cito Culver.  Link here.  Talks about how he was a big Yankee fan and how getting drafted has been a dream come through.  How it has also been difficult to be seen as a possible replacement for Derek Jeter.  As we all know Jeter is getting older and will not be around forever.  Cito is the highest rated SS in the Yankee system but as we all know the Yankees aren't afraid to use free agency as the route to get new players to replace the old.  With the two elite SS signed to long contracts (Ramirez 6 year, Tulowitzki 7 years) it would be great if the Yankees could develop a replacement for Jeter out of their own system.  Culver looks like the best shot at this point but anything could happen over the next few years.

Gary Sanchez done for the season

It looks like Gary Sanchez is out for the season with a broken finger.  A consensus top 5 Yankees prospect, so hopefully this will not hinder his progression.  He is still only 18 years old so this will not slow down his development to much especially since the season is almost over.  But sad none the less for a guy who was really starting to hit after having somewhat of a down year. Link is here.

Hopefully he will make  full recovery and maybe play in the a league over the summer and be back next year to continue he ascent through the Yankee system.

Red Sox at Royals August 21st

As I said at the end of yesterday's post that I was going back today and sitting in the suite level.  Again hoping for a Red Sox loss but alas my luck ran out. Here are some more pictures.
This is a picture from our seats.  Front row of the suite level.  Very nice seats.
Lester started for the Red Sox and here he is coming in from the bullpen after warming up.

From the second deck I could see Kauffman Stadium on top of the dugout.
This is a picture of Lester pitching.
A picture of Daniel Bard coming in from the bullpen.
Joakim Soria came in during the ninth to pitch for the Royals.
We were on the first base line so got a picture of Adrian Gonzalez.
Lastly got a picture of Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer.  He was a top prospect called up and is already hitting cleanup in the lineup.  Hopefully for the Royals there will be much to come from him.
