The Yankees continue to sign draft picks.

7th round pick Austin Jones was signed and sent to the GCL.  Link here.

  1. Do you have any proof that Rookie Davis has indeed signed? Where is he being sent? Other than a tweet from someone not associated with the Yankees there is no other confirmation. Everyone is riding on that one tweet.

    Thanks!

  2. Baseball America also has him as signed. http://www.baseballamerica.com/draftdb/2011xteam.php?team=1028

However, I can't find him in the minors so it may not actually be true. I will update this when I can either confirm or deny it.

  3. Rumors we are hearing is that East Carolina has offered him a full ride. For college baseball that is unheard of as scholarships are limited to about 11.5 for a whole team. No reason for ECU to extend this to Rookie today if he is playing. Not making any sense. He's supposedly signed but hasn't been "assigned." Yankees haven't officially announced they have signed him. Only outsiders.

  4. The Yankees main website still shows William T. Davis (Rookie) as unsigned. If the Yankees aren't showing it I highly doubt the rumors are true. Here's the link... http://mlb.mlb.com/team/draft.jsp?c_id=nyy&year=2011
