Prospect Update August 29th

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees had a double header against the Pawtucket Red Sox.  They won the first 3-0 and lost the second 0-2.
Jesus Montero went 2 for 2 with a HR, a run, and a RBI in game one and 0 for 3 in game two.  Brandon Laird went 0 for 2 in game one and 0 for 2 in game two.

Starer Manny Banuelos pitched a gem in game one.  He went 7 shutout innings, giving up only 1 hit, and striking out 6.  Since this was a double header that is a complete game shutout.  Dellin Betances pitched game two and was only slightly less impressive then Banuelos.  He pitched 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits, while striking out 8.  This was also a complete game.


Trenton Thunder 4-10 loss to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats
Austin Romine went 3 for 4.  Robert Lyerly went 1 for 4 with a double and a run.


Tampa Yankees 3-13 loss to the Brevard County Manatees
Abraham Almonte hits in his 30th consecutive game, and went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs.  Cody Johnson went 2 for 3 with a HR, a run, and a RBI.


Charleston RiverDogs 9-6 victory over the Savannah Sand Gnats
Kevin Mahoney went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 runs, and 2 RBIs.  Ramon Flores went 2 for 5 with a run.


Staten Island Yankees had a double header against the Aberdeen IronBirds.  They won the first 4-3 and the second 5-0.
Mason Williams went 0 for 2 in game one and 1 for 4 with a RBI in game two. Cito Culver went 0 for 2 in game one and 0 for 4 in game two.


GCL Yankees 12-3 victory over the GCL Marlins
Dante Bichette Jr. went 1 for 3.
