Prospect Update July 8th

Today was a rainy day and only two of the Yankees farm teams got through a full game.
Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees were postponed

Trenton Thunder 1-6 loss to the Reading Phillies
Austin Romine went 1 for 4. Robert Lyerly went 1 for 4.  Corban Joseph went 2 for 4 with a double.

Starter Manny Banuelos had a mediocure outing, going 5 innings, giving up 5 runs, 4 earned, and striking out 3.

Tampa Yankees were postponed

Charleston RiverDogs 5-6 loss to the Delmarva Shorebirds
Gary Sanchez had a big day, going 2 for 3 with a HR, 2 runs, and a RBI.  Ramon Flores also had a nice day, going 2 for 5 with a HR, a double, a run, and 2 RBIs.

Staten Island Yankees were postponed

GCL Yankees were suspended after 3 innings.

I will not be doing a 2011 Draftee Update tonight because none of the draftees played with all of the rainouts.
