Yankees Draft: 50th Round - Cody Stewart CF

H:6'2"
W:170
B/T: L/L

Stewart is out of Great Oaks High School in California.

He only had 12 plate appearances as a junior due to a back injury.

As a senior he hit .490 with a HR, 17 RBIs, and 22 runs.  He was ranked as the 88th best prep prospect in California by MaxPreps.  He was selected to play in the Southwestern League-Sunbelt League All-Star Game.

An opposing coach had this to say:
"He really came out of nowhere this year; he's one of the biggest surprises in the Southwestern League," Ruth said. "He's a left-handed hitter with a good frame who looks like he'll get bigger and stronger. He'll fill out as he gets older, and he runs tremendously well. He's the kind of guy that makes ground balls a bang-bang play."
