Yankees Draft: 3rd Round - Jordan Cote RHP

Jordan Cote is listed at 6'5" and 215 pounds.  He is out of Winnisquam Regional High School in Northfield, New Hampshire and is 18 years old.

During his junior season he was amazing.  Leading his team to a state championship and to make it even better he pitched a no-hitter in the championship game.  His stat line that season was insane.  He went 11-0 with a 0.66 ERA. He was also selected to the All-State First Team by the New Hampshire High School Baseball coaches assocation who also selected him as the Player of the Year for his Class.

During his senior season he had similar success.  He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for New Hampshire. His stats this year are a 6-1 record with a 0.77 ERA with 82 strikeouts in only 45.1 innings.

His coach had to say this about him “We’ve heard as high as the third round and as low as the seventh, We think he’ll be taken in the top 10 somewhere.  He’s a big kid with huge hands. He has an A-plus fastball for this level. He’s been clocked as high as 94 (mph). [Professional] scouts have told me they project him at 235 [pounds] and throwing 97. We still had scouts showing up at our game Saturday, two days before the draft. The Yankees are very, very high on him, as are the Pirates and the Phillies. We just have to see what happens.”

He has signed a letter of intent to Coastal Carolina but will hopefully end up a Yankee.
