Yankees Draft: 24th Round - Matt Tracy LHP

Tracy just finished his senior year at Ole Miss.  For high school he went to Christian Brothers in Des Peres, Mo. In high school he was named First Team All-State, All-Metro and All-Conference as a senior. He helped lead CBCHS to the semi-finals of the state tournament in 2007 while posting a 9-2 record with a 1.48 ERA in his senior campaign.  He also tallied 71 strikeouts and walked 30 in 67.0 innings.

As a freshman in 2008 he made 7 relief appearances, striking out 10 in 10.1 innings.  He had a 4.35 ERA and no decisions.

His sophomore year, 2009, he only made 4 appearances so I assume he got injured.  He had 0.00 ERA in those for relief appearances.  He struck out 8 in 5 innings.

As a junior, in 2010, he started 4 games and appeared in 24 total.  He went 4-3 with a 5.85 ERA with 48 strikeouts in 60 innings.  After that season he was drafted in the 43rd round by the Florida Marlins in the 2010 MLB draft.

In his senior season, 2011, he became a full time starter.  He started 10 out of the 11 games he appeared in. He went 3-3 with a 5.23 ERA.  He had 51 strikeouts in 43 innings.
