Prospect Update June 3rd

Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees 4-3 victory over the Toledo Mud Hens
Both Jesus Montero and Jorge Vazquez went 2 for 4 with a run in the Yankees walk off victory.  Montero also had a double.  Brandon Laird had a nice day going 3 for 4 with a double, a run, and 2 RBIs.

Starter David Phelps went 7.2 innings giving up 3 runs, but only 1 earned.  He also struck out 7.  Kevin Whalen picked up his first win of the season after pitching a perfect inning.


Trenton Thunder 7-6 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats
Corban Joseph had a big day, going 3 for 4 with a double, 2 runs, and a RBI.  Cody Johnson also had a big day going 3 for 5 with 2 runs and a RBI.

On the mound Shaeffer Hall went 7 innings giving up 6 runs, 5 earned, while striking out 7.  Then switch pitcher Pat Venditte came in and pitched a perfect inning.  Then closer Tim Norton came on to get his 5th save and lower his season ERA to 1.61 with a scoreless inning.


Tampa Yankees 2-4 loss to the Jupiter Hammerheads
Robert Lylerly had a horrible day, going 0 for 5 with 3 strikeouts.  Walter Ibarra had a nice game going 2 for 4 with a run and a RBI.


Charleston RiverDogs 15-2 victory over the
JR Murphy went 2 for 5 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs as the Charleston offense exploded.  Kyle Roller went 3 for 5 with a HR, 3 runs, and 2 RBIs.  Rob Segedin went 2 for 5 with a double, a run, and 2 RBIs.  Ramon Flores had a big day going 3 for 3 with a HR, triple, 3 runs, and 2 RBIs.
