Prospect Update June 19th

Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees 0-2 loss to the Columbus Clippers
Both Jesus Montero and Jorge Vazquez went 0 for 4.  Brandon Laird went 2 for 4.

Trenton Thunder 10-8 victory over the Binghampton Mets
Cody Johnson had a huge day, going 3 for 4 with a double, triple, HR, 3 runs, and 2 RBIs.  He was a single away from hitting for the cycle.  Corban Joseph went 1 for 4 with 2 RBIs.

Tampa Yankees had an off day

Charleston RiverDogs 7-4 victory over the Hickory Crawdads
JR Murphy went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 RBIs.  Ramon Flores went 2 for 5 with a double, 2 runs, and a RBI.  Rob Segedin went 2 for 4 with a double and 4 RBIs.

Staten Island Yankees 3-5 loss to the Brooklyn Cyclones
Both Cito Culver and Angelo Gumbs went 0 for 5.

Phil Hughes made his first rehab start and went 4.1 innings, giving up one run and striking out 7.


  1. I recommend adding Mason Williams at SI as a player you follow. He was a 5th round pick last season but he was one of those overslot signings. A lot of people view him as the best player we got out of that draft.

  2. I had him in yesterday's. The only issue is that I can only label a certain number of players so I try to do only the top guys and then decent guys who had a big day. But I will try to include him from now on.
