Prospect Update May 22nd

Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees 4-5 loss to the Indianapolis Indians
Jesus Montero went 1 for 4.  Justin Maxwell had the best offensive day going 1 for 4 with a double, 2 RBIs, and a run.  Brandon Laird went 0 for 4.

On the pitching side, top ten prospect Andrew Brackman went six inning giving up 4 runs while striking out four to record a no decision.

Trenton Thunder 6-1 victory over Portland Sea Dogs
Corban Joseph had a big day going 2 for 3 with a double, a run, and 2 RBIs.  Not to be outdone, Austin Romine also had 2 RBIs, going 2 for 4.  Brad Suttle also had 2 RBIs, with a HR.

This was a big day for Yankee pitching as a top ten prospect was also pitching for Trenton.  Manny Banuelos went for only 4.2 innings giving up only 1 unearned run and striking out 7.  But since he didn't pitch 5 inning did not get the win.  The switch pitcher Pat Venditte also pitched in this game, going 2.2 scoreless innings.  Josh Schmidt came in to get his 3rd save of the season and lower his ERA to 1.88.

Tampa Yankees 3-6 loss to the Ft. Myers Miracle
Robert Lylerly went 1 for 3 and Luke Murton went 0 for 4 in a lackluster offensive day for the Tampa Yankees.

Charleston RiverDogs 2-5 loss to the Augusta GreenJackets
Neither JR Murphy, 0 for 3, or Slade Heathcott, 0 for 4, got a hit in this game.
